Horacio Zeballos: Skipping US Open would mean giving up on chance to earn good money

Argentine doubles specialist Horacio Zeballos reveals he is uncertain over playing at the US Open but admits skipping the upcoming Grand Slams means giving up on a good chance to earn points and collect a notable prize money. 

The US Open organizers have received the green light from the New York Governor to proceed with the event as initially scheduled from August 31 - September 13 but players remain concerned over playing in the United States. 

The United States have been the nation hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic and the US Open are preparing to put players in a bubble and set up strict hygiene restrictions so they minimize the risk of anyone getting infected.

"I don't know what I'm going to do yet, I have doubts because I don't want to go New York. I'd rather start in September with the field tour, but giving up going to the United States would mean giving up a lot of opportunities to earn points and money. I have no income for five months," Zeballos told pagina12, as quoted on We Love Tennis France.

Kremlin Cup organizers want clarity 

Russian Tennis Federation President Shamil Tarpischev says they still don't have the venue for this year's Kremlin Cup and moving the event to another city from Moscow isn't an option.  

The Kremlin Cup is traditionally a combined event but this year men's and women's events likely won't be taking place in the same week.

The women's event at the Kremlin Cup has a date, while the date for the men's event is yet to be determined.

"Still no answer from the only venue that could host ATP and WTA Kremlin Cup this year. The venue is in high demand, we are waiting for its owners' decision. This is our only option, the tournament can't be held elsewhere," Tarpischev said, per TASS.

Meanwhile, rising French star Ugo Humbert says he is a fan of Fast4 format but he doesn't see it being used on the regular Tour events.

"I liked this formula. It goes fast, we have less room for error, there are more important points," Humbert said on Eurosport's DiP Talk podcast, per We Love Tennis France.

"I do not believe it. I don't see this format coming to the Tour in the future. "
