Serena Williams and daughter Olympia share a Wimbledon court - Timeback
Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, dived back in time and found a picture illustrating his wife and daughter Olympia sitting on a Wimbledon court. The shared picture dates back from the 2018 edition of the famous Grand Slam, a time when Serena Williams made it to the final stage of the tournament, where she lost against German player Angelique Kerber in straight sets.
The coronavirus pandemic cast a big shadow on the whole tennis world, but if, supposedly, the COVID-19 outbreak wouldn’t have happened, now we could be watching swift exchanges of forehand shots and fast rallies on the All England Club’s tightly cut grass. It’s very probable that Alexis Ohanian had been hit by the same nostalgic feeling before he decided to share the photo on his Instagram account. After all, the next Wimbledon edition is expected to take place only in a full year from now.

Serena Williams is still searching to equalize Margaret Court’s record of 24 won Grand Slams, but unfortunately for the American tennis legend, she doesn’t have too much time at disposal. Serena gets closer and closer to the 40 years mark and, with fierce competition coming from the back, it’s going to be very hard to reach Court’s record.
However, Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, the only mother to win the ladies' singles title at Wimbledon in the Open Era, declared that she would love to see Serena Williams winning Wimbledon in 2021.
"I would love it to happen. It would make mums everywhere, including this one, feel great. It’s now common for women in all fields of life to return to their working roles after having children, including in sport. It’s challenging, even difficult, at the top level, but I think it’s great for tennis that we have some more mums out there today. The challenges for women today are pretty much the same as they were for me, with the travel, body changes and subsequent injuries, and press and public commitments,” said Evonne Goolagon-Cawley for the WTA Tour site.
