Mark Philippoussis takes part in The Masked Singer TV show
Former Top 10 star Mark Philippoussis, of Australia, swapped his tennis racket for the mike and recently took part in the television show The Masked Singer.
The Masked Singer is a top secret singing competition in which celebrities compete against each other while they are dressed in an elaborate costume, which hides their true identity. Each week, a singer is eliminated -- and then reveals his or her true identity.
Philippoussis, a former Wimbledon finalist, was the first celebrity to be unmasked during the premiere episode of the show this season in Australia.

'I was bummed. I'm going to be honest, I am competitive. I mean... who doesn't love to sing? I love music. It was an incredible adventure and it was, you know, good to do something where you're uncomfortable."
The Australian former tennis star had performed the 1980's hit song Faith by George Michael on the first episode of the show.
He also took his Echidna costume with him, saying that he was not aware he was supposed to leave it there. "I have it in my closet. I didn't realise I was supposed to leave it there. I brought it home with me.'

This is not the first time that Philippoussis has appeared on a television show - he was seen as the bachelor in the reality television dating show Age of Love on the NBC television network in 2007.
Australia's Mark Philippoussis is a retired tennis player who helped Australia win two Davis Cup titles in 1999 and 2003, winning the deciding rubber in the final each year. He was a two-time Grand Slam finalist - at the 1988 US Open, losing to Pat Rafter and the 2003 Wimbledon Championships, losing to Roger Federer, and peaked at No. 8 in the world rankings. He has won 11 ATP singles titles and 3 ATP doubles titles in his career. He also reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and French Open during his career in singles and reached the doubles semi-finals at Wimbledon and the US Open in 1996. He was known as 'The Scud' for his massive serve and big-hitting groundstrokes.
