Eugenie Bouchard plays tennis with a taco in hand!
The Canadian player Eugenie Bouchard, together with many other players of the ATP and WTA tour, has decided to join a new challenge: playing tennis with a taco in hand, participating in the 'Mess free challenge', recently launched by the Foundation Tennis by Australian Nick Kyrgios together with the Old El Paso brand.
The Ottawa tennis player, as well as other professional players, has promised to donate ten thousand meals to Canadian families, plus another ten thousand for each sharing of her video on Instagram. To nominate Bouchard in this challenge was the Puerto Rican player Monica Puig, chosen in turn by the Indian champion Leander Paes. As for Nick Kyrgios, the 25-year-old from Canberra will donate ten thousand meals to Food Bank Australia.
The latest achievements of Eugenie BouchardAfter falling out of the top 300 female rankings, Eugenie now is ranked on the 139th position of the WTA rankings. Returning to play in August after the break due to the Coronavirus emergency, the Canadian was stopped in the quarter-finals of the Praga Open by the Belgian Elise Mertens. In Istanbul she reached the final act of the tournament, where she was defeated by Patricia Maria Tig after winning the first set.
At Roland Garros in Paris, however, she came out in the third round, beaten by the future champion and authentic revelation Iga Swiatek. Already top 5, Bouchard boasts a final at Wimbledon and two semifinals between the Australian Open and Roland Garros, all played in 2014.
That same season she also qualified for the WTA Finals, but failed to make it through the group stage of the tournament. His last eighth-final in a Grand Slam event dates back to the US Open 2015, retired before the match against our Roberta Vinci. The North American has won only one career title: it is Nuremberg 2014, won against Karolina Pliskova. He then reached six other finals of the major Tour, the last of which in the aforementioned challenge in Turkey against Patricia Tig.
