Alexander Zverev has the worst stat in the 2020 ATP Tour for...

Alexander Zverev has had a very problematic season, despite having played his first Grand Slam final at the US Open, losing to Dominic Thiem in the final. At the ATP Finals he showed a very poor level of tennis, also due to the controversy of the last few weeks relating to the relationship with former girlfriend Olga Sharypova, topped off with poisonous statements and accusations against both sides.

The 2020 season has ended. Amid a thousand problems, uncertainties and postponements, the year ended with the usual appointment of the London ATP Finals, for the last time in the English capital. Shortly after the Australian Open, won by Serbian Novak Djokovic, the men's and women's WTA Tour were forced to face the first wave of the global Coronavirus pandemic, which exploded in early spring.

Really countless cancellations due to the virus, which involved any category of tournaments: Indian Wells, Miami, Houston, Marrakech, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Budapest, Estoril, Monaco, Geneva, Lyon. Not to mention obviously Wimbledon, canceled for the first time since World War II. The men's Tour then resumed in August, with the events of Cincinnati and the US Open. In the following weeks, the Kitzbuhel, Rome, Hamburg and Roland Garros tournaments were held, postponed by a few months.

October saw other events take place, including the Forte Village Sardegna Open in Santa Margherita di Pula and the two editions of Cologne, both won by Alexander Zverev. It all ended in November, with the Paris-Bercy Master 1000 and the aforementioned London Finals.

The player capable of winning the most trophies in this difficult year was the Russian Andrei Rublev, who has won five: Doha, Adelaide, Hamburg, St. Petersburg and Vienna.

As for Alexander Zverev, the German won the two titles in Cologne and reached the final of the US Open and Paris-Bercy. At the Australian Open he reached the semifinal, while at the Finals he failed to get through the Round Robin round.

Alexander ended 2020 in seventh place in the ATP ranking. Zverev is also the leader of an unfortunate annual ranking: he is in fact the player to have committed the highest number of double faults, 211. Followed by Denis Shapovalov (189), Félix Auger-Aliassime (175), Benoit Paire (151) ), Alexander Bublik (142), Novak Djokovic (137), Grigor Dimitrov (124), Cristian Garin (123), Diego Schwartzman (117), Milos Raonic (110), Hubert Hurkacz (107), Daniil Medvedev (100) and Dominic Thiem (99).

A problem, that of double faults, well known to Zverev: the 23-year-old from Hamburg commits an average of five per match.
