'Roger Federer is the most dominant player of all time, but...', says ATP ace

Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal are certainly not "great friends" in the tennis circuit and several times they have had verbal and social confrontations where each claimed not to appreciate the other's behavior. Recently, however, things have changed a bit with the Australian who tried to moderate his tone and stopped particularly attacking the Majorcan tennis player. Especially as regards the results, it seems quite improper to attack a tennis player with 13 titles at Roland Garros and 20 Grand Slam titles and probably Kyrgios himself, often fickle, however, especially in the social world, has realized this. Currently the talented Australian tennis player is off the circuit but nevertheless does not disdain to comment on what is happening in the world of tennis. Nick recently made interesting statements in NBA Australia's Courtside Huddle program. Among other things, besides praising his true idol Roger Federer, Kyrgios praised Nadal's achievements. Nick Kyrgios admits that he and Rafa Nadal have ‘had their differences’ over the years but he can’t help but admire his achievements.

Kyrgios on Rafael Nadal

“I wasn’t surprised when I saw Rafael Nadal pretty much easing his way through the draw at the French Open,” Nick Kyrgios told Courtside Huddle. “That’s his backyard, he loves playing there and he has only lost two matches in his entire career. Honestly, in my opinion I don’t think we are going to see anything like that ever again. Somebody so dominant on a surface he’s right there with the greatest of all time. You can argue that he is the greatest. You look at Roger Federer, he’s the most dominant player of all time, but in this era it’s actually Rafa. It’s a debate you can have. We had our differences when we played each other. We’re fiery, we’re competitors and are going to go after each other. But at the same time I am not going to take anything away from him. He’s an absolute champion and 20 Grand Slam is ridiculous and I don’t think we are ever going to see that again.” Just more than three weeks after capturing his 13th Roland Garros crown, Rafael Nadal returns to Paris as one of seven Top 10 players seeking their first title at the Rolex Paris Masters. Nadal will attempt to tie Novak Djokovic’s record haul of 36 ATP Masters 1000 titles with a championship run in the French capital. The Spaniard, who owns a 19-5 record at the final Masters 1000 event of the year, will open his campaign against Filip Krajinovic or Feliciano Lopez in the second round. The 20-time Grand Slam champion will attempt to claim his 1000th tour-level victory in his opening match of the tournament (999-201). If he reaches that milestone, he could face 15th seed Borna Coric in the third round for the fifth time in their ATP Head2Head series (tied at 2-2).
