Naomi Osaka announces her collaboration with Strathberry

After collaborating with Nike and launching her own fashion line under the label, world no. 3 Naomi Osaka recently promoted her limited-edition handbag collection on Instagram. "So I'm very excited to announce that my bag collaboration with Strathberry is finally out," she remarked. Needless to say, the collection was escorted by a stunning campaign photoshoot featuring Osaka dressed as the fashion queen she is, showing off each handbag.

The Strathberry and Naomi Osaka collection features include five purses and two wallets. The Princess Street mini handbags cost just $155 and are made of pure calf leather. Lime green, pink, blue, and orange-colored handbags are exclusively available online with price labels that vary from $455 to $803. The minimalist, sculptural designs with finished and detailed tones and pops of color and highlight Strathberry's iconic signature metal bar hardware as well as a leather-wrapped grip designed to mimic a tennis racket. "The collection embodies both Naomi's competitive spirit and the understated elegance of the Strathberry silhouettes, reinvented with a sporty and futuristic touch," Strathberry posted on their website.

Clothing to Communicate

Note that at the US Open this year, Osaka wore masks displaying the name of a black victim of police brutality in the US. In addition to winning tennis championships and fighting for social justice, Naomi Osaka hopes to move forward with other initiatives in the fashion industry. She believes in expressing her thoughts and emotions through fashion. "Fashion and design are such creative outlets for me, and it has become my favorite way to express myself," she admitted in the Vogue interview. Naomi Osaka has been sketching her designs since she was a little girl.

Strathberry to mark the collaboration and further support will donate to Naomi Osaka's newly launched organization Play Academy, which aims to enhance the athletic experience of girls and offer them the same opportunities as boys, starting in Tokyo.

Naomi Osaka is a role model and has always strived to empower people, especially women, with her confidence and courage. "Each bag in this collection celebrates my style through color and modern detailing while remaining timeless and versatile," she stated in a release. "My hope with this collection is to make women feel empowered every time they step out wearing one of our designs."
