Kei Nishikori has mixed feelings, little bit worried after loss to Diego Schwartzman

Former world No. 4 Kei Nishikori was more satisfied with his performance against Daniil Medvedev than against Diego Schwartzman.

On Saturday, Nishikori was beaten by Schwartzman as the Argentine beat the Japanese 6-1 6-7 (4) 6-0 at the ATP Cup.

In the previous tie, Nishikori suffered a straight-set loss to Medvedev but he was happy with his performance.

Schwartzman claimed two breaks and lost none of his service games to easily win the opener.

Schwartzman twice recovered from a break down in the second set but Nishikori won the tie-break to force a decider.

In the third set, Nishikori stood no chance as Schwartzman dominated the Japanese to earn the win.

"I have mixed feelings. I was able to feel balls better in last match (with Medvedev). My body couldn't move the way I wanted (today). I tried to attack earlier, but balls ended up wide due to lack of a right feeling," Nishikori said after losing to Schwartzman, as revealed by Seiadoumogera/Twitter..

"I feel like my body still can't catch up with my brain. One positive thing is I got a set against a top 10 player, and in the 2nd set I tried to play at slower pace, that went well. I'm worried about recovery, but I'd like to take my time (to regain my form)."

Nishikori drew positives from the Medvedev defeat

Nishikori won only a total of six games against Medvedev as the Russian won 6-2 6-4.

But still the Japanese was in positive spirits after the match.

"I couldn't keep my level, had more ups and downs than usual, but stamina-wise it was better than expected.I'm getting better everyday, the first (on-court practice) day was just horrible," Nishikori said.

"In the second set, everything was good. Sometimes I missed volleys and lost important points maybe due to bad timing (of coming to the net), and I hope I will have more stable stroke. There were as many good points as bad points."
