Betfred British Masters, reward for local hero

The European Tour will reward a local hero of the Covid-19 pandemic when the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett takes place at The Belfry from May 12-15.

Nominations are now open ahead of the popular tournament which returns to The Belfry, near Birmingham, for the first time in 13 years.

Betfred British Masters, how it's work

Applicants are asked to submit up to 150 words describing the positive contribution their nomination has made to their community or the lives of others. Nominees must be over 18 years of age, have an official handicap and be local to the area where the tournament is taking place.

The local hero will win an unforgettable prize, including the chance to tee it up in a four-ball at The Belfry on Sunday May 16, the day after the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett, playing the world-famous Brabazon Course in tournament condition.

They will also receive a year’s membership at The Belfry, courtesy of this year’s Betfred British Masters host venue, an Odyssey Putter and a year’s supply of Callaway Chrome Soft X LS golf balls, as used by this year’s host Danny Willett, courtesy of Official Partner Callaway.

Previous winners have included a nurse, a postman and a youth worker, among others, who have been rewarded with unforgettable golfing experiences and prizes.

Launched at the 2020 Betfred British Masters at Close House, Golf for Good is the overarching umbrella for the Tour’s CSR activities. The initiative continues across the entirety of the 2021 season and embraces support for worthy causes and the communities where the Tour plays, promotion of all areas of sustainability and promotion of inclusivity for all allied to the many health benefits of the game.
