Rafael Nadal fumes at journalist over tournaments schedule!

Rafael Nadal played just nine tournaments in 2018 and retired in the mid of them in two, Australian Open and US Open. The Spaniard wishes to be able to play more events in 2019, starting from Brisbane. On the criticism around his too heavy schedule, Nadal said: 'If my schedule in 2019 is lighter than in 2018... I'm not a tennis player anymore. I'm gonna play the tournaments I want and make me happy. I'm a little bit tired of this questions about my schedule.'

Nadal, who last competed in an official match against Juan Martin del Potro in the US Open semifinals in early September, also added: 'It was a tough season in terms of injuries... I didn't have the chance to play as often as I would like. On the other hand, I won five events out of nine that I played. It was a great level of tennis every time that I was on court. So that's great news. I enjoyed it a lot. I achieved things that were amazing to me. I enjoy a lot of fantastic moments in my career. So it will be not fair if I only talk about the injuries because I had the chance to create a lot of opportunities to enjoy, a lot of opportunities to play in front of the best crowds of the world and to achieve much more than what I have dreamed. So my only goal is to keep doing the things that make me happy, and today playing tennis makes me happy, and I want to do it better and as long as possible.'
