Richard Krajicek opens up on the frustration of many Kyrgios' withdrawals

In an interview to Nos the 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek commented on Nick Kyrgios's withdrawal from the Rotterdam Open due to a knee injury. It's the third time over the last four years that the Australian pulls out and Krajicek, who has been running the Dutch tournament since 2004, said: "He is a guy who often gets injured, unfortunately it belongs to him. We will definitely invite him, but in October we will not be active anymore (sharing player's announcements). He wants to make a promise he can achieve. People will not see him confirming the appearance before six weeks prior to the tournament."

Krajicek also said that a WTA tournament could be introduced in the Netherlands. "I would like to see it, especially now that we have Kiki Bertens, but in Rotterdam, there are no chances, there are two big tournaments in Doha and Dubai during this time, so it will not happen. I hope that someone will hold a tournament, but it needs to be in another time of the year."

Krajicek believes that his tournament has some similarities with the Paris Masters. "That event takes place at the beginning of November, but they want to move in February as they suffer many withdrawals. Our place on the calendar is not that great either."

Kyrgios is also in doubt for the Delray Beach Open. He played the Dallas Challenger in the doubles draw last week losing in the opening round. He is committed to the Mexican Open in Acapulco late this month too. Last year he didn't play from early April to early June due to an elbow injury
