Cameron Norrie: It would've been entertaining to play Nick Kyrgios
Rising British star Cameron Norrie insists it wouldn't have been easy to play against Australian Nick Kyrgios in the French Open first round.
World No. 41 Norrie and 36th-ranked Kyrgios were drawn to meet in the French Open first round but the Briton will be clashing against a lucky loser after the Australian withdrew due to illness.
Norrie, 23, and 24-year-old Kyrgios met for the first time at the Atlanta Open last year.
Back then, the Briton led 7-5 3-0 when the Australian was forced to retire the match.
"It would have been pretty unpredictable to play against him (Kyrgios). You never know how he's going to play," Norrie said, per Metro UK.
‘"I think it would have been pretty entertaining, for sure, but it would have been tough to focus. He's also got a big serve.
"It's always tough to know which Kyrgios is going to come out. If he's competing it's going to be very difficult."
Kyrgios will now focus on the upcoming grass season.
The Australian is expected to open his 2019 grass campaign in the opening week of the grass season in Stuttgart.
"But I think it's probably smart from him just to get ready for the grass. I wish him all the best and hopefully he's fit and ready for that," Norrie said.
