Nikoloz Basilashvili to undergo surgery at the end of season

Georgian tennis star Nikoloz Basilashvili is expected to continue his season despite not being fully healthy but he is planning to undergo an arm surgery at the end of the season, per Alex|Tennis/Twitter.

Basilashvili, ranked at No. 17 in the world, finished his campaign at the Moselle Open in Metz on a disappointing way as he was forced to retire his quarterfinal match against French home favorite Jo Wilfried Tsonga. 

Former world No. 5 Tsonga came from a set down to take a 5-7 6-3 4-1 lead before the second-seeded Georgian retired the match due to a right shoulder injury. 

Basilashvili has been struggling with his game for the past two months as he hasn't made a deep run at a tournament since winning it all at the Hamburg Open at the end of July. 

However, it has still been a good season for Basilashvili, who successfully defending his Hamburg title and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 16 in the world. 

The Georgian, who captured his biggest title at the China Open last year, won't have an easy job of defending his Beijing title when the tournament kicks off on September 30.
