A sample of 1,800 boys and girls, between the ages of 4 and 16 years old, were recently surveyed in Spain and were asked to pick what profession they would like to choose when they grow up as well as their preferred choice of a boss or leader.

According to the Ultimahora website, tennis champion Rafael Nadal was the favourite  among the boys with 18.3% of the votes, followed by the footballer Leonardo Messi at 17.2% and the Director of the Coordination Center of Alerts and Health Emergencies, Fernando Simón with 13.4% of the votes.

When it came to the girls, 17.9% say that they would like their ideal boss to be the Catalan singer Rosalía, while Nadal came in second place with 15.2% of the votes and Simon in third place with 11.5% of the votes.

Nadal is considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time and among the greatest athletes from Spain. He has won 19 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record 12 French Open titles - and is one short of the all-time record of Roger Federer, who has won 20 Grand Slam singles titles in his career so far.

Besides his incredible achievements on-court, Nadal also has his own academy in Spain and his own charity foundation.  He helped raise funds during the recent months for those impacted by the global  pandemic.

The Spaniard has won a record twelve French Open titles, four US Open titles, two Wimbledon titles and one Australian Open title, and won at least one Grand Slam every year for a record ten consecutive years in his career so far.

Rafael Nadal is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. He has said he will not compete in the US Open in New York later this month as he was not comfortable competing in the current situation and that he would take a call on the French Open and other clay court events closer to time.
