Kuerten explains why Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal,Novak Djokovic play longer

The 2000 ATP Finals winner and former world No. 1 Gustavo Kuerten believes there is a reason why top players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic compete at their best level even after turning 30 nowadays. 'They are doing everything much better', admitted Kuerten in an interview to Sky Sport Italy. 'You see the players much more ready, they are ready to compete all the days. They are great athletes and can manage their careers taking better decisions', said Kuerten, who defeated Andre Agassi 6-4 6-4 6-4 in 2000 final.

Commenting on the ATP Finals, the Brazilian added: 'I was lucky enough to lift the trophy in 2000, it's the best it can get. It was special, I won it in Lisbon, my hometown language, at home. I played against the greatest players of all time, Andre and Pete, and finished as number one in the world. I would not change anything.'

The 2001 and 2002 ATP Finals winner Lleyton Hewitt said: 'It's truly special. This is the finals, top eight players. For me, the two years when I won were special because I was coming to that event as number one and I was playing for the ranking as well. It was a lot of pressure', concluded Hewitt, who also added that he misses watching Andy Murray competing and hopes to see him again at the highest level. Murray is set to be back to compete at the Brisbane International in late December.
