Australian Open - Entry List: Roger Federer, Djokovic seek seventh title

The Australian Open men's draw entry list is out and Novak Djokovic leads the way. The world No. 1 will seek his seventh title in Melbourne, where he won his maiden Grand Slam title in 2008 defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The Frenchman, who dropped in the rankings due to a knee injury this year, is likely to take a main draw wild card. Earlier this year Djokovic was dealing with a right elbow injury, he lost to Hyeon Chung in the fourth round and underwent surgery in early February. The five-time finalist Andy Murray, the former top 10 players Janko Tipsarevic and Steve Darcis used the protected ranking.

Roger Federer is the defending champion, the Swiss player will seek his seventh title. Earlier this year Federer won his 20th Grand Slam title defeating Marin Cilic in a five-set final. Federer had a magical run also in 2017 defeating four top ten players. It will be a very important tournament for Tomas Berdych, who lost to Federer in the 2018 quarter-finals, and the defending semifinalists Hyeon Chung and Kyle Edmund. Thomas Fabbiano is the last to make it in the main draw per now, while Ugo Humbert is the first alternate. The Frenchman should be inside Aus Open cut at No 84 but he will lose 88 of 97 ATP points earned at $25k Futures when the new system is implemented.

Meanwhile the world No. 60 Marius Copil, who lost Basel final to the hometown hero Roger Federer in October, said: 'I hope to be better next year and more satisfied, I want to win an ATP title and crack the top 50 to stay there.'
