Ferrer reveals biggest achievement in Roger Federer, Djokovic and Nadal era

David Ferrer may have won more Grand Slams if he played in another era, but he is still satisfied with his career. Commenting on playing in the same time as Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, Ferrer said: 'It was a luck to have coincided with them. They made me a better player. Becoming the world No. 3 with them around, makes me being calm that I did a lot of things well.'

Recalling one of his best moments in a career, Ferrer added: 'A very special one was winning my first Davis Cup in Seville, at home, with all the people. I also have a great memory of the triumph at Paris Bercy.'

Spain lost 2012 final to Czech Republic 3-2. 'It was a very hard moment, we lost for nothing but I feel that I was playing my best tennis there.'

Meanwhile, tennis commentator Yekaterina Bychkova backed umpire Carlos Ramos's work in the US Open final with Serena Williams: 'Why should someone make an exception? Is there a rule according to which this rule doesn't work in a Grand Slam final? These are rules of tennis. The coaching, that depends on the umpire, gives a penalty and gets not contested in no way. Osaka deservedly won. Of course, it's a shame for Serena because every final for her is tougher. And it will be even tougher because she will be 37, 38, 40. First, they will start beating her in a final, then semifinal, the third round and first. That the winner is so young is interesting. It was amazing that opponents had such an age difference, and Serena was Osaka's idol.'
