Kei Nishikori: I love to challenge great players, Roger Federer is my idol
Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori enjoys competing against the best players of the game as Swiss Roger Federer is his idol.
The Japanese has played at least 10 times against each member of the Big Four Group.
Nishikori, ranked at No. 9 in the world, trails the head-to-head against record 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer 7-3.
The head-to-head record between the Japanese and Rafael Nadal is 10-2 in the Spaniard's favor.
Nishikori hasn't had many success against world No. 1 Novak Djokovic so far in his career as the Serb dominantly leads their head-to-head 15-2.
Nishikori, 29, also has a losing record against former world No. 1 Andy Murray as the Scot leads 9-2.

Meanwhile, Nishikori hopes that playing an exhibition event ahead of the Brisbane International will work out well for him.
The 29-year-old is due to play the Hawaii exhibition from 21-23 December.
"It's good to be able to start this way. I've never had an exhibition before (Brisbane). I think it will work and I wish I can play good tennis (there)," Nishikori said while speaking at the Alo Moana Center, as revealed by Twitter user Seiadou Mogera.
Nishikori, the 2017 Brisbane runner-up, will making his eighth appearance at the tournament from December 31 - January 06.
