Nadal has first-hand knowledge on every project of Foundation, says Perelló

Rafael Nadal cares a lot about his Foundation, and in an interview with Tennis World USA Maria Francisca Perelló, Director of Strategy and Relations with Institutions, confirmed the world No. 2's consistent commitment to it. "Rafael visited the centre in India in 2010, when it was inaugurated", said Perelló. "His professional commitments haven’t allowed him to come back since then, although he keeps in touch with the Foundation through videos and sending sports material and the like. He definitely keeps up with the evolution of the project and is looking forward to visiting again soon. During this time, Rafael did visit the other organization’s projects on many occasions, since those are carried out in Spain and makes it easier for him. In any case, Rafael has first-hand knowledge about every project, keeps informed about the day to day life in the organization and takes part in the most important decision-making processes. After all, it is his Foundation and he is the first person to understand that this way is the only way to do it."

On the future, Perelló added: "We are certainly aware that we still have a long road ahead. Besides, our commitment to society, and specifically to the assisted children and their families, is in a long-term. We cannot see another way to develop our mission as an organization.'

Nadal will start his new season at the Brisbane International late this month.
