No one will ever play like Roger Federer, says NextGen player

Jannik Sinner was privileged and honoured to practice with both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic at the Piatti Tennis Center in the North of Italy. The Swiss was there earlier this year in late February as he attended the Laureus Sports Awards ceremony in Monte Carlo, while Djokovic trains there from time to time. Speaking to Tennis Italiano, about Federer, Sinnek said: 'No one will ever play like him, he does different things compared to the rest.'

Commenting on how it felt like to train with Djokovic and Federer, Sinner added: 'It was an honour, even if it's difficult to get inspired by two champions like them. And then every player is a champion for himself and I prefer to focus on my journey.'

Sinner instead has a great relationship with the Italian Andreas Seppi: 'We were at the Ortisei Challenger, he has always been my idol and his story is an example for everyone. He became a great player because he has always done all the right things, working with a great commitment and a right approach. But you cannot compare our journeys: he was lucky to find (coach Massimo) Sartori near home and he lived in Caldaro (North of Italy) for so many years, while I had to move as a kid.'

Commenting on his next goals, Sinner added: 'In 2019 I would like to win some Challengers. I have to improve physically and learn to play even better the important points, but I think I have the level.'

He finally concluded: 'Family is one of my strengths because it gives me calmness. With mum and dad, I do not speak a lot of tennis, they allow me to live this journey being calm. In my tennis life, there is already a lot of tennis, it's a luck to have parents like them.'
