Vasek Pospisil could miss the start of the season with ongoing back injury

The 28-year-old Canadian Vasek Pospisil made a name for himself back in 2014 when he won the Wimbledon doubles crown with Jack Sock, becoming world number 4 a year later and having a chance to play some of the biggest doubles titles on the Tour. Focusing on his singles career from 2017, Vasek has played just 19 ATP doubles matches in the last two years, establishing himself in the top-100 of the singles list after reaching four Challenger finals this season, winning two titles and 29 matches overall. Pospisil also played in the third round of Miami Masters and the quarter-final of Newport and Antwerp for eight ATP wins overall, hoping for more of the same in the season in front of us.

Vasek has not signed for any pre-Australian Open tournament and we will have to wait to see his next moves if he fails to recover in a natural way in the following weeks. The Canadian has played in one ATP singles final so far, four years ago in Washington against his compatriot Milos Raonic and he is seeking his 100th ATP win, currently standing on 99 after scoring a couple in Antwerp.
