Week 1: Federer, Nadal and Djokovic ready to kick off the new season

Things start to get serious, with the first points at stake! Finally, the curtain rises on the 2019 season of tennis, and the premises, at the dawn of this new year, are very interesting. Starting from the new years' eve night.

Six official tournaments (three men's, three women's) and the Hopman Cup, the team event that includes Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza, Stefan Tsitsipas, Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev among others.

As for the real tournaments with points, the men are on stage in Brisbane (Rafael Nadal seed no.1, plus Kei Nishikori, Nick Kyrgios, Milos Raonic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga), Doha (Novak Djokovic leads, the even Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem) and Pune (Kevin Anderson at the head of the draw).

The women will play the Auckland tournament (Caroline Wozniacki and Julia Goerges are there), Brisbane (Elina Svitolina, Naomi Osaka, Sloane Stephens and Petra Kvitova) and Shenzhen (presents Maria Sharapova and Jelena Ostapenko, but the number one of the seeding will be the young Aryna Sabalenka).

It is a week full of events and with (almost) all tennis stars on the courts. A great show is guaranteed for all the fans; this is just the appetizer of an exceptional month, which will culminate in Melbourne with the Australian Open, first seasonal Major.
