Andre Agassi explains how he would face Juan Martin del Potro
In an interview to ESPN Tenis the eight-time Grand Slam winner Andre Agassi was asked how he would face Juan Martin del Potro. Agassi, who retired from professional tennis in 2006, said: 'I can tell you the approach to the match, I do not know what would happen. First of all, I'd rather face his serve more than other guys would see. It's crazy how far the game has gone. But del Potro is big, I would give a lot of non-pace balls to his backhand because my game was to control the baseline and if you move the guy forward, that would give me the chance to win the point. But I could not cope with his forehand. I am just happy to see him from my living on TV.'
His most beautiful memory against Argentineans? 'I would have to say Martin Jaite, Davis Cup. A special moment. I was very young, very stupid, very immature but I played great. I really played great in that big moment.'
His worst memory? 'Martin Jaite, Davis Cup, same match.'
On Djokovic possibly overcoming Federer's 20 Majors, Agassi added: 'I’m thrilled to see him doing it, he’s somebody I… I root for him, too. I was convinced when we started he would win two a year for the next three or four years and he’s certainly on pace for that!'
