Despite Djokovic's absence, Serbia's Davis Cup team is strong - Zimonjic

Dusan Lajovic, Laslo Djere, Nikola Milojević, Filip Krajinovic and Viktor Troicki got picked by the captain Nenad Zimonjic to play the Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan away from home on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 February. The 14-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic is missing, as the Serb is still competing at the Australian Open and he will have to recover properly after a very demanding Major. Despite Djokovic's absence, Zimonjic feels confident about Serbia's chances: 'We play a very strong team. It's very important to have a good training and preparation. I think we will be ready for what is an extremely important match for us. We are waiting for the match to happen and we will give our best to win', he said.

In an interview to Sport Klub, Troicki said: 'There have been a lot of changes, at all levels, even in this sport and tradition got away. The game continues. Whatever the game is, the game continues and we are here to play, to fight for the win. This year we may become the first winners of the new Davis Cup. We will try, we will give our best and we will believe at our chances.'
