Djokovic taking off shirt after 2012 Melbourne wasn't liked by Nadal's team

It's now seven years that Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in an epic, at the 2012 Australian Open final after five hours and 53 minutes. After the match, Djokovic took his shirt off, which was not liked by the Spaniard. Annabel Croft revealed an interesting thing about it. "In terms of the celebrations, it’s an interesting point when he takes his shirt off. I do remember being on the plane coming back from Australia after Nadal lost that thriller with Novak Djokovic," said Croft speaking to Express. "Uncle Toni said to me on the plane that the team didn’t like it when Novak Djokovic took his shirt off to celebrate that victory in the final. Tiafoe is a fun character, love to watch him play and look forward to this match."

On Sunday, in the men's singles final, Djokovic defeated Nadal to win his seventh Australian Open title, and his first since 2016. It was a different match to their 2012 final. Djokovic won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-3. This was the first time Nadal had lost a Grand Slam final in straight sets. Djokovic went past Pete Sampras' total of 14 Slams and is now third in the all-time list. If he were to win the French Open, the Serb will complete the non-calendar Grand Slam for the second time in his career, after 2016.
