Having Rafael Nadal on court is good for everyone, says Bautista Agut
Roberto Bautista Agut gets inspired by Rafael Nadal and in an interview to Marca he wished the 17-time Major winner all the best after withdrawing from the Brisbane International due to a thigh injury. Bautista Agut, who lost to Nadal both times they faced each other, said: 'Having Rafa on court is good for everyone and I feel for him. I wish him a fast recovery.'
Asked about his goals for the 2019 season, Bautista Agut, who is coming from winning the Qatar Open in Doha, said: 'The goal would be to have a consistent year, without injuries. I think that if I am doing like this I will be closer to my best results. I have been winning a tournament in the beginning for four years. I need to keep calm and be well-focused. I mostly want not to get injured and for it coming well to the competitions being at a high level like in Doha is the key.'
Commenting on how he feels mentally and physically, the Castellon de La Plana native added: 'I started the season well. I had no injuries and I am playing tennis well. The most important thing at this level is to find the rhythm. In January I am always fresh. Doha conditions suit me well.
About the Australian Open, the 30-year-old added: 'It's still one week away and now I have to enjoy the moment. Against Berdych I played one of my best matches on Tour, I want to head into Melbourne being fresh to try winning as many matches as possible.'
