Hilarious moment: Serena Williams heads into the court, then exits
Serena Williams headed into the Rod Laver Arena on Monday before her match against Simona Halep when the presenter said that the player would have been ranked No. 1. Halep should have entered, but there was a misunderstanding and there were a lot of reactions around it. Speaking on ESPN, the seven-time Grand Slam winner John McEnroe said: 'Serena was right, it doesn't matter what people believe. She is like the number one in the world and the number one favorite.'
Analyzing the match, McEnroe added: 'Simona had to make Serena run and in certain moments she achieved it. However, when Serena was able to dictate the game, Simona never had any chance. Simona played well, but the serve left her.'
Halep will have a packed schedule in February playing the Fed Cup tie in Romania against the Czech Republic, then the Qatar Total Open in Doha and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship
