'Roger Federer is the best ever, by far' - Marcelo Rios

In an interview to Sonar FM the former world No. 1 Marcelo Rios commented on Roger Federer's legacy in tennis. Rios praised the 37-year-old Swiss. 'For me, Federer is the best tennis player in history, by far', said Rios. 'He has a very difficult talent to equal, the motivation he holds after all that he won is very difficult to equal. The guy cares of himself and he does not get injured, at 42 (years) I play for half an hour and I do sh**.'

Rios said tennis has a future after that Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic retire, but he added: 'I think they will be doing a lot of history, but I do not believe they will reach Federer's level. No one like Federer will exist.'

Rios's dream to play a professional tennis tournament came to its end, after that his agent Patricio Apey received an answer from the Tournament Director. 'You have a committee that will decide who takes a wild card. The decision will be taken one day before the event starts.'

Rios explained: 'I told Apey that he had to know it before the exhibition started because I have to practice a little more. I do not want to practice and then know that I do not play.'

The badminton player Saina Nehwal also praised Federer. In an interview to Times Now News, Nehwal said she tries to get inspired by Roger Federer in seeking more success in her sport. In an interview to News18, Nehwal said: "I love watching tennis if I was not a badminton player I would definitely have been a tennis player. Sachin (Tendulkar) Sir and Rodger Federer because the way they carry themselves is perfect. Very positive players."
