Serena Williams' US Open controversy belongs to the past, says Boris Becker

Boris Becker believes that Serena Williams' US Open controversy with the chair umpire Carlos Ramos belongs to the past. In an interview to DN, Becker said: 'I think it was forgotten. Such a lot of tennis was played since then and I did not even remember it. Yeah, that was Serena's last match, I am sure that she will get questions on it after the first round but as soon as she wins and advances, it will disappear.'

On the men's next generation, Becker stated: 'I think some are already starting to show up the qualities we see with the old guard. Sascha [Zverev] loves competing against the best players, he always studies the game, he likes the competition environment. He is a high tennis player, which is important now, and a big server. It seems that these coming up talents are able to cope with pressure. People speak about unconsistent examples like Kyrgios but Zverev and a couple younger players do not seem too influenced by the pressure. They do not get panicked if they lose in the first round and they do not get excited if they win a title either.'
