Troicki pleased with Melbourne run: 'I lost to Tsitsipas, who d. Federer'
Victor Troicki was satisfied with his Australian Open campaign. The Serb went through the qualies and then lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round main draw. "I was not able to get in the main draw directly, but it's part of the sport. I am pleased with my game and results, I defeated a lot of good players, won four quality matches and then in the second round I played against Tsitsipas who defeated Federer and then reached the semifinals", said Troicki.
Troicki now looks forward to playing the Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan in Tashkent: "We love the Davis Cup and our connection as a team makes the competition unique."
On the new Davis Cup format, Troicki added: "There have been a lot of changes lately, on all levels, in a competition where there has always been a lot of tradition. But we are here to play, to fight for the win. We will believe in ourselves giving our best chances. It's a good feeling to be back in a team competition, especially in the Davis Cup. It was a good break to have, I used my time to stay with my family.'
