2013 Miami Open loss to Andy Murray was my saddest moment, says David Ferrer
David Ferrer feels satisfied with how his career went. The Spaniard shared his biggest achievements in a press conference in Buenos Aires. "It was very good. I could not have asked more, I am very grateful for all what tennis gave me, both on a professional and personal level. My first Masters 1000 (2012 Paris), when I was world No. 3, when I won the Davis Cups", said the 2013 French Open finalist.
What was his best moment in career? "When I won the Paris Masters and then the second and third Davis Cup. The saddest one? My 2013 Miami Open final loss to Andy Murray and the medal with Feliciano Lopez."
On his post-career plans, Ferrer added: "I want to be with my child and family and I felt that I could not give more anymore. Now my priority will be my family."
On co-directing the Valencia Open a few years ago, Ferrer added: "It was a very nice experience because I also did it with Juan Carlos Ferrero who is a great friend of mine. It was a unique experience, I learned many things and I also did it as a player and I won it thrice. I felt very happy for being a part of that. The tournament was sold due to some circumstances and I do not know if I will be involved into it again. My future is to play the three tournaments left in the best possible way and then I want to spend time at home and disconnect from everything."
Ferrer will play in Acapulco late this month
