Week 8: Juan Martin del Potro comes back on the court
Eighth tennis week of the year. The five tournaments of these seven days seem to guarantee excitement and fun. The event of the week is Juan Martin del Potro's comeback on the court. The Argentinean, after the patella injury, will be seed no. 1 at the Delray Beach Open, ATP 250 which will be played on the North American hard courts. With him, there will also be Frances Tiafoe, Nick Kyrgios and John Isner.
The Open 13, in Marseille (ATP 250 on indoor hard courts), will instead be a tournament where there will be several young players, like Stefanos Tsitsipas, who leads the draw, Denis Shapovalov and Borna Coric. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils will also be there. The Rio Open, ATP 500 on clay courts, will be attended by Dominic Thiem, Fabio Fognini, Diego Schwartzman and Marco Cecchinato.
The Dubai Tennis Championships 2019, WTA Premier 5, is definitely the most anticipated women's event of February. On the hard-court, there will be many stars: Naomi Osaka, Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina, Garbine Muguruza and Karolina Pliskova. The Hungarian Ladies Open 2019 (WTA International), on the indoor hard courts of Budapest, will see the presence of Alison Van Uytvanck (seed No. 1), Kirsten Flipkens and Andrea Petkovic.
This will surely be another week of great tennis, with five tournaments and many protagonists who will take on the courts all over the world. There will be seven important days, during which we will be able to evaluate the state of psycho-physical shape of the great champions involved in the five ATP and WTA events.
