Gerard Pique answers Lleyton Hewitt's criticism around him

Lleyton Hewitt had strongly criticized Kosmos' founder Gerard Pique while speaking about the new Davis Cup format. This is what the Spaniard had to say in an interview to Marca: "I respect his opinion because he is an unbelievable tennis player, he still plays doubles, doesn't he? Pique added: "It's the most important team competition, an event that has a lot of history and that we have been playing since 1900. We want it to evolve and so we work with ITF. I am sure that year by year the Davis Cup will go improving."

The 32-year-old also commented on the challenges of convincing players to support the new format: "It has been the toughest part, I will not deny it. But we signed a 25-year agreement, not one."
