Martin Klizan withdraws from Acapulco, Hyeon Chung out of Dubai

Slovakian tennis star Martin Klizan has withdrawn from next week's Mexican Open.

The 29-year-old has played at the ATP 500 event in Acapulco only once so far in his career.

Klizan, ranked at No. 39 in the world, debuted on the hard courts of Acapulco in 2017.

Back then, the Slovakian didn't have a great Acapulco debut as he lost in the first round to world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Klizan last played at last week's ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, where he suffered a first-round defeat.

Former world No. 24 Klizan will be replaced by Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka in the Acapulco main draw.

The 23-year-old is set to make his debut appearance in Acapulco.

The Japanese debuted at the Acapulco event in 2017 when he made it past the qualifying event to clinch a main draw place.

Nishioka then won two main draw matches, before he suffered a quarter-final defeat against Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

Meanwhile, rising South-Korean star Hyeon Chung has pulled out of next week's Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai.

In his lone Dubai appearance -- which came in 2016 -- the South-Korean lost in the round-of-16.

Chung, ranked at No. 53 in the world, last played in Rotterdam -- where he was beaten in the first round.

A place in the Dubai main draw has opened for France's Benoit Paire following the withdrawal of Chung.

Paire, 29, is set to make his third consecutive appearance on the hard courts of Dubai.

The Frenchman lost in the Dubai first round two years ago, before he made the round-of-16 a year ago.
