Nutritionist explains her job at the Rafa Nadal Academy

In an interview to Cadena Ser, Gemma Bes, the nutritionist at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor explained how important good eating is for the amateur and professional players who train there. "The work is a long term one," said Bes. "You need to be motivated and educated in order to have a balanced diet. In the Academy, we have kids coming from more than 40 countries so we test a lot of food. We motivate the player eating well. They need to do it day by day because it's very exigent so that you perform better and you prevent injuries and cramps as well. A match in Australia with high humidity is not the same as one in Spain now. It's very important to make the body get used to certain weather condition and staying at the same level."

Fitness trainer Domingo Rosello said: "We do some tests in order to prevent injuries daily especially on the arms and hip."
