Rising star Lloyd Harris: If I play good, I believe I can beat anyone
Rising South-African star Lloyd Harris is happy with the way he has been performing for the past six months.
The 21-year-old is enjoying the fruits of his hard work as his game continues to improve and the results are getting better.
Harris made a good end to 2018, as starting in August, he won two Challenger titles and finished runner-up at another before the end of the year.
The South-African won three qualifying matches to make his main draw at the US Open, where he couldn't beat former world No. 6 Gilles Simon in the first round.
Harris also made his Australian Open debut this past January after winning three qualifying matches to earn a place in the main draw.
Unfortunately, world No. 15 Daniil Medvedev was too much for the South-African in the Australian Open first round.
The 21-year-old then remained in Australia, where he won it all at the Launceston Challenger without a dropped set.
Making his Delray Beach Open debut this week, Harris beat Darian King to set up a round-of-16 clash against Dan Evans.
"It's all pretty new, but I'm happy (with) my game. I've been playing well and with a lot of confidence. The last six months, I've been playing, I'd say, my best tennis. If I play good, I believe I can beat anyone," Harris said after beating King, per the Delray Beach Open website.
Harris broke into the top-100 for the first time in his career at the beginning of February as he is now enjoying his career-high ranking of No. 98 in the world.
