Filip Krajinovic: Coach Thomas Johansson said I wasn't good enough

Serbian tennis star Filip Krajinovic claims coach Thomas Johansson quit on him as he "wasn't good enough."

Krajinovic, 27, and former world No. 7 Johansson recently put an end to their short partnership.

Krajinovic and Johansson, who started collaborating in November, unexpectedly parted ways last month.

Krajinovic, the 2017 Rolex Paris Masters runner-up, had a tough and challenging 2018 campaign as his year was marked by health issues.

However, the former world No. 26 made a solid start to the 2019 season, having reached the Australian Open third round and Montpellier quarter-final respectively in his first two tournaments of the year.

Johansson, who split with Krajinovic after Montpellier, was announced as the new coach of Belgian David Goffin at the end of February.

Krajinovic, now ranked at No. 113 in the world, has been playing an inspired tennis so far at this year's BNP Paribas Open.

The Serb has won a total of five matches in straight sets at the Indian Wells Masters so far to reach the round-of-16 as a qualifier.

Krajinovic ousted Johansson's new pupil Goffin 6-3 6-3 in the second round, before he saw off world No. Daniil Medvedev in the third round 6-3 6-2.

Krajinovic plays next against the winner of the match between world No. 2 Rafael Nadal and Argentina's Diego Schwartzman.
