Roger Federer back to Madrid Open is amazing news for tennis - Organizer

The former world No. 7 Albert Berasategui looks forward to welcoming Roger Federer back at the Madrid Open for the first time since 2015. "It's a pride for this tournament and amazing news for the world of tennis. An eventual final between him and Rafael Nadal would be a blast, these matches help to attract the crowd at the Caja Magica. Hopefully, people will enjoy some good tennis", said Berasategui, a Madrid organizer.

We are already speaking of him at just 18 years and for me, he will be one of the top players over a short time."

And look, Indian Wells is a particularly well-suited place to do that because he says really it plays like a clay court. The only thing that’s particularly different about is that he can’t slide. But in terms of the speed of the ball off the court and the bounciness of the court, it’s very much like a clay court. So if he was going to make a hard court breakthrough anywhere, this was going to be the place."
