Tennis looks so easy looking at Roger Federer, says former top 10 player
The former world No. 7 Mario Ancic praised Roger Federer's tennis talent. Speaking to Index, Ancic said: "When you watch Roger Federer playing, it looks so easy."
On Croatian tennis, Ancic backed Marin Cilic and Borna Coric to achieve more success: "I was a top ten player, Karlovic was on the top 20, and I think we will back on that note this year. We will have two top ten players because Borna will join the list too."
On the new Davis Cup format, Ancic added: "I am speaking as a business man but as a former athlete too, some things need to change in tennis in order to get closer to the younger fans. Tennis is still in delay than football and basketball, and it's still one of the most popular sports in the world. We will have to see how it will look like. I am not sure, the event has a big tradition but I think it could work on some aspects. However, changes in tennis need to happen."
Ancic got a business degree following his retirement from tennis due to a mononucleosis: "I am absolutely satisfied with all what happened after my tennis career. The life goes forward. I was in New York at a college, caring about business. I am doing what I love to, so I am satisfied with these things. I learned a lot. I am a big tennis fan, I am still training every day to stay fit."
