Andre Agassi shares what he loves the most about wife Steffi Graf
Andre Agassi was asked what hits him the most about his wife Steffi Graf. The American replied: "Her beauty, elegance. Having evolved both in a very competitive environment, we created a strong relationship between us. There is also philanthropy. If we look at life in depth, like Steffi, we try to make this world improve. My wife created Children for Tomorrow 20 years ago, a Foundation that aims to help victims of war, persecutions or violence, so that kids have the opportunity to have a better life. 20 years ago I created Prep2 (Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy), my Foundation for the education of disadvantaged younger people. Now it has 81 schools in the United States that offer 65,000 seats. It's a real success. I did not like tennis. Being able to use it as a springboard for something useful gave a sense to my career and also a second wind. It paid me more than I gave back."
How can popularity influence a player and a person? It can become a mission but also a distraction. Existing only through the other people' eyes is an illusion that easily gets broken. Steffi and I share a key discipline that is to 'live' rather than representing."
On how his look evolved over the years, Agassi added: "Everything is a question of choice. You have to make a call on how you want to live. There is not a destination, you just need to go forward, learn, grow. None of what finished ultimately finishes. If I will live one more day, I will always do it using my best chances."
