Becker reveals the players who will replace Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal

In an interview to DW, the six-time Major winner Boris Becker commented on the players who will replace Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. "In Germany you have a very good player, Alexander Zverev", said Becker. "The Russians, like Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev, are amazing. The Canadian Denis Shapovalov too. You have a couple of players between 19 and 21 years old who are knocking the door. Nick Kyrgios is another big rising star. Dominic Thiem is another player with a great future. They will be the leaders of the world of tennis. It's just a matter of time."

"You have a tennis boom in Germany, especially for the success of the players. You have two top world class players: Angie Kerber and also Julia Goerges. Alexander Zverev is another great player. Why not? We are working very hard to have good 18 and 19-year-old players. We will definitely have to get through the king' sport, the football, but I do not know if it will possible. But you have enough room for several sports, tennis too."

What were the reasons that brought Germany to have so much success in the 80s with Becker and Michael Stich on the men's side, Steffi Graf on the women's? "Several reasons. We had very good regional federations. In Baden case, we counted on very good coaches and a very positive environment in family. All this gave me the opportunity to simply play tennis besides having a little good luck."

Becker will probably show up later in the week at the Monte Carlo Masters.
