Coach reveals the best thing about Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Nadal
In an interview to ATP Tennis Radio the former Roger Federer's coach Paul Annacone commented on the Swiss, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal dominating the tour year in and year out.
"The amazing thing to me isn’t that they can play well still", said the American. "It is generally that they can play consistently well. They are playing less tournaments which means there is less margin for error in bad losses. They still have a couple of them here and there. But almost every match out there they are so solid. And to me, that is what's amazing. Because on the big day, on the big stage, they can still elevate. But week in, week out, to see them persevere in conditions that can be challenging with young players who are really hungry, and to ultimately still want to really do that, that's incredible to me. And it shows you how much they love the game and love the sport. I just want to keep cherishing every day we get to see them play because when they are done, I always feel like when greats leave they break the mould. New greats will come along but Rafa and Roger will be seriously missed.”
Annacone said he never argued with Federer during the three years they worked together: 'This is the one thing that is so amazing about his career. He is very able to look at things objectively even when there are a lot of emotions involved.'
