Daniil Medvedev takes his game to another level this clay season

Rising Russian star Daniil Medvedev's game has taken another level as he is now capable of playing a good tennis on clay as well.

Medvedev, 23, entered the 2019 clay-court with a 2-11 win/loss record on clay at the ATP level.

After just two tournaments played on clay this year, the Russian's clay-court record has improved to 10-13.

Medvedev made an impressive start to his clay season as he made the Monte Carlo Masters semi-final before losing to eventual runner-up Dusan Lajovic.

The Russian proved his Monte Carlo run wasn't a fluke as the following week he made the Barcelona final, where he was beaten by 2018 French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem.

Medvedev, a four-time ATP champion, is now enjoying his career-high ranking of No. 14 in the world.

The 23-year-old is widely considered to be one of the most promising and talented players on the tour.

Improving his game on clay now makes Medvedev a legitimate threat on all surfaces as the Russian continues his rise and improvement.

It remains to be seen will Medvedev clinch his maiden clay title this clay season.
