David Goffin takes Estoril wild card after slow start of the season

After Pedro Sousa and 2017 champion Pablo Carreno Busta, the organizers of the next week's Estoril Open have announced David Goffin as the third player who received a wild card, with world no. 22 set to make Estoril debut. After another setback at Indian Wells, David decided to get back to Challenger level for the first time since conquering four straight titles in the summer of 2014, dropping out to world no. 168 Salvatore Caruso in the quarters! Frances Tiafoe bested him in Miami and there was no fuel in David's game in Monte Carlo and Barcelona as well, deciding to enter Estoril and seek form and wins before Madrid and Rome Masters 1000 events where he scored four wins overall last May.
