Fernando Verdasco to open his grass season in 's-Hertogenbosch
Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdasco will open his 2019 grass season in 's-Hertogenbosch, the tournament announced.
The 35-year-old has played at the 's-Hertogenbosch event five times so far in his career.
The Spaniard debuted on the grass of 's-Hertogenbosch in 2004 when he made the quarter-final before losing to fellow compatriot Tommy Robredo.
World No 37 Verdasco also made the 's-Hertogenbosch quarter-final in 2014 and 2018 respectively.
In the remaining two appearances at the Dutch grass-court event, Verdasco picked up a round-of-16 loss in 2009 and 2015 respectively.
Verdasco is expected to be joined in 's-Hertogenbosch by 2019 Australian Open semi-finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas, Belgian tennis star David Goffin, home favourite Robin Haase and rising Australian star Alex de Minaur.
It remains to be seen can former world No. 7 Verdasco makes it past the quarter-final in 's-Hertogenbosch and achieves his best result at the tournament this year.
The 's-Hertogenbosch event is set to be held from June 10-16.
