Grigor Dimitrov, Milos Raonic and Stan Wawrinka join stellar Queen's field
ATP 500 event at Queen's has been among the strongest ones outside Grand Slams and Masters 1000, gathering a stellar field of players throughout the Open era and having impressive winners list that includes Rod Laver, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. The organizers have done their homework nicely ahead of 2019 edition, signing Marin Cilic, Kyle Edmund, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime and adding some big names on Thursday to make the draw even stronger. 2014 champion Grigor Dimitrov, three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka and Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic have all signed to compete at Queen's, making it the tournament to watch between June 17-23!
“The Fever-Tree Championships has always been one of my favorite tournaments,” said Dimitrov. “I have a special connection with everyone that works there and the crowd, and will always look back with happy memories on winning the event in 2014. I am already looking forward to coming back again in June.”
“I like coming to play at The Queen’s Club for the Fever-Tree Championships because I think it’s the best way to prepare for Wimbledon,” said Raonic. “You have some of the best players in the world competing at this event on pristine grass courts, with a very homely feel, at a tennis club. I think it’s great to be in London at that time of year as well. I have enjoyed playing well there in the past, and hopefully, I can continue to do so.”
‘The Fever-Tree Championships is a great event and the grass courts at The Queen’s Club are perfect every year,” said Wawrinka. “I am very much looking forward to returning in June.’
“We are hugely excited about the line-up of established champions and talented young players that we have assembled to play in the Fever-Tree Championships this year,” said Tournament Director Stephen Farrow, who is also the LTA’s Director of International Events and Professional Game. “Grigor, Milos and Stan have played the tournament for many years and are hugely popular with our spectators. We look forward to seeing them all in June, with further big names expected to be revealed when our entry list is finalized in early May.”
