I like training with Djokovic. I love Roger Federer's game - Rising star
Jannik Sinner trained with Novak Djokovic on Tuesday on the Center Court of the Monte Carlo Masters prior to the Serb's match against Philipp Kohlschreiber. Interviewed by Sky Sport, the 17-year-old Italian gave his thoughts on his experience in the third Masters 1000 calendar tournament of the season. "I like the environment, there are a lot of people and someone asks me autographs. It's a pleasure for me. I like a lot to play with Novak Djokovic, he is world No. 1 and hitting with him while he is in the tournament is a very nice thing. One thing is to practice with him in Italy when there are no events, another here with so many people around. I like Djokovic and Alexander Zverev's backhand, Grigor Dimitrov's slice, Roger Federer's game of course because he plays well and then Zverev's serve because he has a similar movement to me. I would like to win the US Open and become world No. 1 and then let's see what happens", said Sinner.
On Sinner, the former world No. 25 Filippo Volandri said: "It's very important if he is mature enough to realize that this stage is still far away from him. You spend time with top players, you learn their routines, their way to be professional when it comes to tennis. Jannik is very calm a bit like Andreas Seppi but he is very aware of his abilities."
Future will tell us how far Sinner can go. He is coached by Riccardo Piatti and he recently won the Bergamo Challenger.
