Kevin Anderson congratulates Roger Federer, takes positive from Miami run
Through his official Twitter account Kevin Anderson commented on his Miami Open campaign. The South African lost to Roger Federer 6-0 6-4 in a straight-set quarter-final. "I’m taking a lot of positives with me from the week and I’m happy I was able to play well again after being away with an injury", wrote Anderson. "It was great to be back on court and seeing the fans again and I look forward to keeping this feeling going. Congrats to Roger Federer on the win. See you next year Miami Open."
Analyzing his upcoming final against John Isner, Federer said: “I know what to expect, that he will not miss many serves. He’s got an amazing serve, one of the best in the game forever. It’s really hard to play against him. I saved match point the last time I played against him at the Laver Cup, that was tough. Big fan of his. I actually really enjoy watching him play. I know some guys don’t but I love it. I honestly love big servers. To watch them and see if they’re going to ace every second or third point. For me that’s exciting. It’s like a penalty shootout in soccer, it’s just in tennis. I quite enjoy it. For me I’ll be the goalie, I’ll try my very best. I’ll try to get as many balls back as possible and I hope we’ll play a good match. I’m excited to play John because he had a really tough match against Felix today, that was an awesome performance from him."
