Novak Djokovic: 'Preparation is a huge thing for me'
Novak Djokovic is often in a philosophical mode when he speaks to journalists, and his chat with Jay Shetty did not make an exception. Djokovic wants to enjoy every moment as best as he can.
"The whole day passes by we do not even remember a single moment in a day because we are just being distracted the whole time so if we earned and trained to be distracted that's how our life is going to unfold, we are going to be distracted but we train ourselves to be present and aware, then obviously we shit to the attention of the subconscious and internal, external energies in a simplified way", said the Serb. "You work on the habits. I still have habits that I am working on and for example the phone, you get to Instagram and it's all love, fantastic, this is how we connect but if you become your master, then that's how it's going to be. You are gonna be distracted, you are gonna feel lack of energy, lack of inner peace, you are gonna feel upset, you are gonna have a short break on all these different things and that reflects on relationships, your work, your performance or whatever you are doing and for me I try to think inside, what I am doing right on the tennis court, how can I translate that off the tennis court. On the tennis court what I am doing right is to 100% compete in your body and mind and everything, discipline, working towards the objective, organized, preparing myself. This is a big thing. If you fail to prepare, you prepare yourself to fail. So preparation is a huge thing at least in my world in tennis because it has helped me a lot. I do not want to put a number on it, 80 per cent, 90 per cent of the match that you want for example or any success that you have. How you do your homework."
