Pundit reveals why coach Marian Vajda may be the key for Novak Djokovic
Amazon Prime pundit Daniela Hantuchova believes that Marian Vajda can be once again a key for Novak Djokovic to get back to the top. The Slovakian pundit, speaking before the Serb's loss to Daniil Medvedev in Monte Carlo, said: "I just feel like it is a different Novak when Marian is around. He’s got that fighting spirit. When Marian joins the team, they work extremely hard on the court and it is all about tennis. Because with Novak, we know there are so many distractions around his life outside the tennis court. He likes to learn, he likes to improve and listen for new things."
Nick Lester said that Fabio Fognini may cause an upset against Rafael Nadal in the semifinals: "I guess Fabio Fognini is the only guy you look at who’s had some success against these guys over the last few years on this surface. So that might throw a spanner in the works.”
Greg Rusedski was surprised by Djokovic's loss to Medvedev: “Djokovic has been saying himself he’s still finding his footing on clay but as we always talk about when Marian Vajda is in town, he is ready for business.”
In an interview to Amazon Prime, the former world No. 5 female player Daniela Hantuchova commented on Novak Djokovic going straight forward to presser after every time he loses looking like he is very angry. Hantuchova drew some parallels with Roger Federer. “The difference when Roger says his opponent was better, it is like he admits it but he is angry which is good. It is a normal reaction but this to me is a little bit too nice. You won’t stay at No 1 in the world if you are happy for your opponent to have a nice win", said Hantuchova.
